The Inspirational Woman Project

"Figure out what's Inspirational to you, own it, and share it with the world." - Bri Seeley

Bri Seeley, fashion designer and founder of the Inspirational Woman Project, is an entrepreneur dedicated to helping women discover their best selves and live a life of purpose. She’s motivated by seeing women inspired within their womanhood, their professional passions, and their personal lives. After being unfulfilled in a nine-to-five job for many years, Bri decided to launch a 31-day blog series with three questions around what it means to be a woman and why it’s so great to be a woman. Her writing was met with so much interest and response that she was soon invited to blog for the Huffington Post. Within months, Bri left her day job, continued blogging, and launched The Inspirational Woman Project, a coffee table book consisting of 99 interviews with women from around the world. The project took off rapidly and surpassed its crowdfunding goal on Kickstarter. Bri’s diverse collection of personal interviews has led to speaking engagements and book signings around the country, as well as Inspirational Woman Workshops, which are to begin this year.

Bri is an example of the power generated by women believing in themselves, collaborating, and supporting each other. She told me that what emerged from the 99 interviews was the realization that “most women don’t believe in their own power. They don’t think that their contributions to the world are inspirational.” Her advice to women? "Figure out what’s inspirational about you, own it, and share it with the world.” She encourages women to move past cultural pressure and the media’s negative messages to “tap into the expansion that women can create together. One woman is powerful in and of herself but the power of combining several women together is unstoppable.”
